ISBN Book Manager is a personal book collection and resale tracking tool. No accounts, no ads, no third-party analytics or tracking.
Everything you catalog (title, author, publisher, buy and sell prices, reading progress, tags) is stored by default in a database on your device only. We run no servers and cannot read any of it. Deleting the app deletes the data with it.
If you unlock the full version and turn on iCloud Sync, your book data is stored via Apple CloudKit in your own iCloud account's private database so it can sync between your own devices. That data lives on Apple's infrastructure and counts against your own iCloud storage. The developer cannot read your library. You can turn sync off in the app at any time, or remove the app's data under iOS Settings → Apple Account → iCloud.
When you scan a barcode or search by title, the app sends that ISBN or search term to the lookup sources you have enabled in Settings (such as Google Books or Open Library) to retrieve book information. Only what the lookup itself requires is sent — never your library contents or any personally identifiable information. Those services have their own privacy policies.
If you supply your own Google Books API key, it is stored encrypted in the device Keychain (marked this-device-only, so it never enters an iCloud backup). It is used solely for the lookups you make and is never transmitted to the developer.
Camera access is used only to scan book ISBN barcodes and take cover photos. Photo library access is used only so you can pick a cover image. Images are processed on your device and are never uploaded to any server of ours.
If you choose to use Settings → Feedback to report an issue, the message you type is sent to our support channel so we can read and reply. This happens only when you tap send. We include basic technical details (app version, iOS version, device language) to help diagnose the problem; we do not attach your name or email unless you type it yourself.
The app requires no account and does not collect or store personally identifiable information (PII) such as name, email, phone number, or location, unless you volunteer it in a feedback message.
The one-time full version unlock is handled entirely by Apple's App Store payment system (StoreKit 2). We never see or store your payment credentials.
This app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
