What does this app actually do?
TinyWalk is a tool for developers and QA testers: it generates structurally correct step and health test data on your own iPhone, so you can verify apps that read this kind of data.
Where does the generated data show up?
It's written directly into the Health app, tagged as coming from TinyWalk, and can be deleted anytime from the Health app.
Is the data real?
No — it's synthetic test data for your development workflow, not a record of real activity.
Does it cost anything?
The 100-step and 1,000-step datasets are free forever. Unlocking 2,000+ step datasets is a one-time purchase, no subscription.
Can I control how the samples are written?
Yes. Sample Shape writes a session either as one step sample covering the whole window, or split into per-minute samples bundled in an HKWorkout — so you can exercise both paths your app might take. Whether distance is written alongside, and whether samples are tagged user-entered or device-recorded, are separate switches.
