Q-Dir is a macOS file manager. It operates entirely on your Mac and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
Q-Dir only accesses files and folders you explicitly open. File operations (browsing, copying, moving, deleting) run locally on your device. Q-Dir does not collect, upload, or store the contents of your files. To provide file management features it may read file metadata — name, size, type, modification date, and folder structure — but this metadata never leaves your Mac.
Q-Dir runs inside macOS's App Sandbox. Its access is limited to locations you explicitly grant — the files and folders you open, plus its own preferences and Application Support data in your user Library folder. It cannot reach system-sensitive data outside what you've granted.
If you use Q-Dir's SFTP feature to connect to your own remote server, your login credentials are stored securely in the macOS Keychain on your device. The connection goes directly from your Mac to the server you specify — Q-Dir does not relay, see, or store your credentials or transferred files on any server of ours.
App preferences, window state, and settings are stored only in local storage on your device. Uninstalling Q-Dir removes all of this data.
Q-Dir does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It is built entirely with Apple's native frameworks.
Q-Dir does not require an account and does not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, device identifiers, or location data.
Q-Dir is a one-time purchase through the Mac App Store, processed and secured entirely by Apple (StoreKit). There is no subscription and no additional in-app purchases. We never see or store your payment details.
Q-Dir is a general-purpose file manager, not intended for and not marketed to children under 13.
